MAGQUIP
Born from a remarkable magnetic separation heritage, MAGQUIP has evolved into a top-class, globally recognised magnetic separator manufacturer. Our product diversity highlights that we are one of a few global magnetic separation companies who can cross the product category divide by designing and manufacturing equipment for all application sectors such as mining and mineral processing, tramp iron removal and the recycling industries.
Many companies make bold marketing statements and claim to be “technology leaders”, however, very few companies can lay claim to the title. MAGQUIP ‘s pedigree is proven by the number of revolutionary products and innovations introduced to the market since the 1970s – if “industry disruptors” is the new corporate buzzword for technology and product innovation, then MAGQUIP has been “disrupting” the industry for over four decades
MAGQUIP and its founding Director can boast the following product innovations, major projects and industry “firsts” in addition to holding some of the following patents since its founding, thereby proving our claim as magnetic separator technology leaders:
Designing and supplying over 100 high-intensity “Induced Roll Separators” [IRMS] for Richard’s Bay Mineral Sand treatment plant in the1980’s, which was the biggest plant in the world at the time.
OUR HISTORY
MAGQUIP and its associated companies was founded in Chamdor, an industrial area West of Johannesburg SouthAfrica in the early 1980’s by Mike Flanagan, who had originally been a sales distributor for one of the leading globalmagnetic separation companies BOXMAG RAPID. This local sales office at the time supplied the rolling millmagnets for Highveld Steel Witbank and rail lifting magnets for Iscor Pretoria & Iscor Newcastle.
After BOXMAG RAPID divested from the local market, the group of companies broke away and were renamed tobecome the MAGNAPOWER group of companies including Magnapower which manufactured magnetic separatorsfor mining and mineral processing applications and Magnapower Equipment which specialised in manufacture ofpower supplies and control panels for electromagnets.
During the following years Magnapower & Magnapower Equipment became a leading brand in the local and global materials handling and mineral processing industry, especially in
Dense Medium Separation (DMS) Plants
Iron Ore Concentration Industries
Heavy Mineral Sands
Coal Handling & Washing Plants
In 2007 Magnapower Equipment shortened its name as part of a globalisation strategy to become MAGQUIP. Today MAGQUIP is still headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa and continues to do what it always did so well -Innovate Magnetic separators
